Has anyone seen or heard of any dvd media that has single layer dvd+r on one side of the disc and dvd-r on the other? I've got both a Panasonic dvd-r Home Theater player and several Dvd+r players. It would be nice to burn a movie in both formats on different sides of the disc and then be able to use one side or the other depending upon the player's format.

try to find a bit setting utility for your drive. I have a lite on burner and they have a program called BookType. In it you can change the booktype to dvd-rom, which is what I do for all my movies. Then you'd be able to burn 1 movie and play them on any receiver you have (hopefully).

someone correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding was that the +R or -R was only relevant for burning purposes. Once the disk is burnt it can be read in any DVD player and not specific for +R or -R.
