Hi all,

I have a dvd and subs where I have rt, rf or some other r something
combination. The 2 letters seems attached and subrip dectets that
as 1 character. I can always enter rt, but I was wondering if there is
a way to separate those 2 chars. I can increase the size of the
detection box (the red rectangle) using >> but not decreased to wrap
for instance the r.
Is there a way to achieve this , rather than entering the 2 chars?

Thanks and regards
Lankou

Why would you need to type them separately? You type each combination once, then they will be detected afterwards.

Hi,

I agree, it was not really a complain. Just wondering, since unlike
ae or oe which can be linked, rt or rf have nothing in common.

Because their borders touch each other, SubRip thinks it is a single character, scans its character matrix for a match, doesn't find one and hence prompts you. Once you enter the characters, SubRip will know it the next time.

Actually, there are such "compound" characters in UniCode ("fi" is a good example, but there are many others). Feel free to dig them up and use them, if you want ;).
Otherwise, just type 2 characters, SubRip doesn't mind at all ;).
