I cannot seem to find where the cce target sectors variable is (duh!!!!)

I want to reauthor some stuff (3 kids movies) onto 1 dual layer dvd....can get them all on at 75%, but I need to be able to change the CCE target sectors to the amout of sectors on a dual layer +R? Just want to try this out for fun.

Anyone help...I checked the rebuilder ini file I see no target sectors.

Also, how many sectors are there in a dual layer +R?

thanks

This is the correct line for dual layer discs which I worked out and then fine tuned after a few encodes. It leaves you with about 100Mb of leaway to be on the safe side. I have used this myself a few times so it will not oversize you.

TargetSectors=4070000

ps. I always keep it in my ini file as
rem TargetSectors=4070000
and just remove the rem when i need to use it

Just an small additional note -- make sure it is in the "[Options]" section of the INI file.

Does DVD-RB add the layer break when the target sectors are adjusted for a DVD +/r DL? The DL disc will have major playback problems in standalones if the layer break is not in the correct postition.

I am also wondering, does DVD-RB remove the break when encoding? I assume it does when burning to single layer media...

I am also wondering, does DVD-RB remove the break when encoding? I assume it does when burning to single layer media...That's a subject of debate... there really is no such thing as a layer break except at a hardware level. A "layer break" as it is generally understood is actually a timing discontinuity. There are many, many reasons for a timing discontinuity other than the change between layers -- so removing it is risky. DVD-RB will examine the discontinuity and try to determine if it was put there for layer change -- if it comes to that conclusion without a doubt, it removes it.
