Are we talking a whole series?
How big is the initial Video_TS folder?
I tried two seasons of Monster garage (about 21 gigs) with an average bitrate of 1400 kbps..and the motion scenes were blocky. Thsi is just TOO much to ask and keep MPEG2 compliancy.
AVC, MPEG4, Half D!..now maybe.
You might want to try and split it up. Keep the bitrate above about 2500 kbps
yeah we talk about the hole series it is the season 4 DVD1 i will back up! the video TS folder size is about 6.75 GIG!
and i want it to ONE disc !
it is season 4 DVD1 on 1 Disc

Have you checked for multi angles? I've been waiting for the release of v1.0 for a while now as I've got some simpsons that I want to back up too. Series 3 + 4 both have multi angles on them. Jdobbs is working on it so we shouldn't be too long now.
okey but what is that multi angels ? and is that the problem?

Yep. Currently dvdrebuilder will only re-encode multi angle stuff within the main movie but the simpsons have it within the extras..... multi angle stuff can be many things (someone please correct me if I'm talking rubbish) but the example I'm waiting for looks like picture in picture that you can switch between. Hope I've explained that ok?
yeah okey i understand :) thanks!!!
so i should wait for jdobbs come out with it?
is it in the new version of dvdrebuilder ? and does it come a freeware edtion there support that multiangle!?
i will get the pro edtion when i have a paypal account hehe :D

I'm not sure of the version that will cope with angles within the movie but we are assured that v 1.0 WILL have it. It can't be that far off as there have been no updates for ages. I'm sure Jdobbs is gratefull for every donation and it's the only way you will get the pro version.
okey if i get this right! so i can see in the dvd rebuilder ! if it is multiangle! like
this is MULTILANGLE Movie right?
If its wrote like this in status window after prepare!
ANGLE and/or INTERLEAVING is Pressent

AVC, MPEG4, Half D!..now maybe.I did the first two discs of Monster Garage S1 and the result was pretty decent. They look about the same as if watching the eps on cable on Discovery chan. and that's good enough for me. I removed any logos and trailers, compressed the menus a bit and got an average of ~1750 bps. Then used undot and deen filters and encoded the whole disc at Half D1 with ProCoder 2 (which is great at this stuff). Might be worth a try :)
(I did the same with American Chopper S1 and S2 with the same result, though i'm not sure how the result would hold up on a screen larger than my 32")

LOL..I'm laughing cause I did the same thing a week or so ago, after someone else told me to try Half D1 and Procoder.
Although a funny thing. I saw the procoder interface working on the M2V file, but the Rebuilder logfile says I used CCE???
Any ideas?

Any ideas?I've done a whole lot of encodes with ProCoder and have only seen that once. It's probably not what happened in your case, but it had me scratching my head for a while.. I had run prepare with CCE but changed my mind and used ProCoder instead. So the log file had two prepare sections and the top one said CCE.. :D
