OK, i just backed up Napoleon Dynamite pal, i stripped out only the German and Spanish 5.1 tracks.I kept all 30 odd sub tracks. I demuxed with dif4u,created a script with scenaid 1.6, i have the dvdr size set to safe -10.Yet after re-encoding and compiling my final came out at 4.44GB, the avg was 5143 and max was 8776. I didnt demux and re-encode the extras as thy only took up about 500 oddish meg and seen as the avg was good enough i left them. Any ideas why my project came out too big ??

I always leave extras alone if they only take up small amout and i can still get a good bitrate on the main.

OK i have manage to get it down to 4.34GB, i re-encoded the deleted scene which was progressive.
But i now have a problem that the subs dont show in the deleted scenes. They show on the first deleted scene, they dont show on scene 2 or 3 and the script from scenaid does not even add the subs in for scene 4.In the log where it says scans the sst files on scene 4 subs it says Deleting Empty substream even though there are subs in the sub folder and the original plays subs on the deleted scenes.

I also checked in the simulation window in scenarist, same thing.

UPDATE...

I just checked there are subs for pgc 2 and 3 but the subs are way out of sync.

Still no subs for PGC 4 though.

OK, i kinda have the problem sorted or at least part of it.

I need to demux the extras set by vobid as each of the 4 program chains feature was vobid 1 and then the 12 frames after each feature was a different id. Like so.

PGC_1 (program chain): [Title(TTN): 1] [00:00:46.02 / 25 fps] (Programs: 2) (Cells: 2) (uses VOB-IDs: 1,2)
[Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 1/ 1] : time: 00:00:45.15 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:00:45.15] [Frames: 1140]
[Ch 02] [Pg 02] [Cell 02] [V/C Id: 2/ 1] Layer Br.: time: 00:00:00.12 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:00:46.02] [Frames: 1152]

PGC_2 (program chain): [Title(TTN): 2] [00:01:09.02 / 25 fps] (Programs: 2) (Cells: 2) (uses VOB-IDs: 1,3)
[Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 1/ 2] : time: 00:01:08.15 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:01:08.15] [Frames: 1715]
[Ch 02] [Pg 02] [Cell 02] [V/C Id: 3/ 1] Layer Br.: time: 00:00:00.12 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:01:09.02] [Frames: 1727]

PGC_3 (program chain): [Title(TTN): 3] [00:03:15.17 / 25 fps] (Programs: 2) (Cells: 2) (uses VOB-IDs: 1,4)
[Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 1/ 3] : time: 00:03:15.05 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:03:15.05] [Frames: 4880]
[Ch 02] [Pg 02] [Cell 02] [V/C Id: 4/ 1] Layer Br.: time: 00:00:00.12 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:03:15.17] [Frames: 4892]

PGC_4 (program chain): [Title(TTN): 4] [00:02:39.20 / 25 fps] (Programs: 2) (Cells: 2) (uses VOB-IDs: 1,5)
[Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 1/ 4] : time: 00:02:39.08 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:02:39.08] [Frames: 3983]
[Ch 02] [Pg 02] [Cell 02] [V/C Id: 5/ 1] Layer Br.: time: 00:00:00.12 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:02:39.20] [Frames: 3995]

So now the subs sync fine but i dont have all the subs. Subs for PGC 2 and 4 aint there, i dont mean they dont display, there actually not been ripped for some reason. Could it be i have vobsub pgc ticked ? as im not demuxing by pgc.

Any ideas.??

to be honest, i can see no real benefit what-so-ever in demuxing this asset by vobid ....

i believe you may have answered yourself by saying :Could it be i have vobsub pgc ticked ? as im not demuxing by pgc. what is listed in your subs directory for this vts?

Unticking Vobsub PGC gives ou now subs.

I have got it working though.. i had a couple of brain waves and one worked. If i demuxed by pgc the subs on pgc 2 and 3 was off beacuse of the times in the sst files the time was as if all the deleted scenes played as one, instead of the ssts for pgc 2 starting at 00:00:00 they was starting at 00:51:00 thats why i demuxed by vobid. But then i only got two of the four sets of subs.
So i demuxed by vobid and pgc, moved the subs from the vobid demux to a temp folder, i then replaced the subs with what was ripped from the pgc demux.I re-names the folders changing P1A1 to V001,P2A1 to V002 etc, that didnt work so i Left P1A1 as it was and change P2A1 to P1A2,P3A1 to P1A3 and P4A1 to P1A4.I re-scaned with scenaid and it worked.

So i used the video from the vobid demuxas the footage was one file, and the Subs from the PGC demux changed the folder names as above and bobs you uncle it worked.
