I have an avi (video only) I am reencoding using its same codec, same frame rate, same size, no audio, no filter, nothing that I know being changed and yet, the final avi is about almost double the orignal size, from 56MB to 101MB for a 15:44min video, what can be the problem with virtualdub?
The codec is Divx3 low motion.

Not sure what you are talking about. GK already sets bitrate and stuff means? What is this "stuff"? How is it related to the issue discussed in this thread? And why can't you enter your own bitrate overriding the existing?

Yes I think I got it now, the bitrate for my first video was 495 on divx3lm menus, the default or the one it was using was 8xx something so lowering to 495 gave me a almost exactly the same size differing in only 1.xMBs.
