hello all, i'v authored a DVD (added subtitles) demuxed, multiplexed all that sh1t.. after i was done, opened it with PowerDVD and it worked just fine!
then when i wanted to burn it with nero, i got "DVD-Video Files reallocation failed". i'v tried the :search: button, but non-helping results came up.
will it work ok if i'l put the VIDEO_TS folder into .ISO mode and burn it with DVD Decrypter?
thanks :p cya

This question has already been answered many times. :sly:
It's probably because there are empty (0 bytes) menu VOB files in your compilation. If it's the case, load your DVD in PgcEdit. It will ask you if you want to delete the empty VOBs. Answer yes, and save the DVD.
Some authoring programs leave non empty VOB files that are unreferenced. Nero complain also in this case. But PgcEdit doesn't handle this situation automatically. So, look at each menu domain (VMGM and VTSM). If you see one menu domain with only dummy PGCs, but a VOB file exists for that menu (VIDEO_TS.VOB or VTS_XX_0.VOB), then use the "Blank Out All PGCs in Domain" function on any PGC of that menu.
If, after that, you still have the problem, then it's probably an error in the VTS pointers. The solution is to use a better authoring program.
Note that the reallocation problem is not important if you play your DVD on a computer, but is probably crucial if you want to play it on a standalone.
The DVD burned in ISO mode by DVD Decrypter may work if the problem is only caused by unreferenced empty or non-empty menu VOBs, but it will probably not work if the problem is more serious.
Anyway, avoid using Nero to burn DVD-VIdeos. It has many problems, especially when burning DL media. Use RecordNow, or... PgcEdit! (V0.6 will have the function to burn DL media) :)

hmm.. note that it works ok when i take it form original DVD, then when i copy the IFOs from original and edit them with PGCedit (just changed the subpicture domain and some colors) after i'v edited them i got the error, not before. could be something with PGCEdit?
ahh and another question! after demuxing with pgcdemux and multiplexing with muxman i'v got the error @ pgcedit: "Error loading NAV pack from ......VTS_01_1.VOB at sector ... (infile): VOB file is CSS encoded. rip it again with DVD Dec."
what could solv this error?

Could you send me the original and the modified IFOs? ( pgcedit <at> tiscali <dot> be )
ahh and another question! after demuxing with pgcdemux and multiplexing with muxman i'v got the error @ pgcedit: "Error loading NAV pack from ......VTS_01_1.VOB at sector ... (infile): VOB file is CSS encoded. rip it again with DVD Dec."
what could solv this error?Strange. I have made many demux/remux using these softwares without problem. Please open your VOB in VobEdit, jump to the LBA of the nav pack that caused the error (it should be a nav pack), and hit the copy2clipb button. Paste the informations here. Thanks.
Maybe there is a problem with the method I use to check for VOB encryption, or a problem in the IFO.

Try a mock strip (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84097). Unfortunately, Nero is not very verbose in his error message, so you don't know which domain caused the problem. You will probably have to mock strip all VOBs...
BTW, I have checked your problem with several DVDs. I don't have reallocation errors after using PgcEdit.
(Still waiting for approval of your text file...)

I cannot help you much more without your IFOs. Did you sent them? I received nothing.
You should also try to read the DVD in DVDShrink. If it loads the files without errors, you may probably ignore the Nero warning.
BTW, I made a test with Matrix (zone 2): the original caused realloc errors. After load and save in PgcEdit, Nero is happy!

sent it to ya now :P
and btw, tried to load it @ DVDShrink, got error @ VTS_01_1.VOB (witch is NOT the movie.. hmmmmm..)
*EDIT*
wahoooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i did that 'mock strip' of yours to VTS 01 and 02, and now DVDShrink loads it!!!!! :P
wahoooooooooo number 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nero now burns it! :PPPPP thanks r0lz :)
only problem now is to add highlight to the new add buttons :P

This means thet you have made an error somewhere.
You said in your second post: "when i copy the IFOs from original". Maybe it's the problem: you cannot copy the IFOs if you don't copy the VOBs as well, and vice versa. VOBs and IFOs are interrelated. If you reauthor a VOB, you must use the IFO created by the reauthoring program.
However, as you just discovered, the mock strip technique can be used to rebuild the pointers and references in the IFOs.
I'm happy to see that PgcEdit is not guilty! :)

ok so i have a question about that you said..
lets say i authered a dvd with MuxMan, and now i got new IFOs.. and i want to keep the original IFOs witch contains the menus and all the PGC cmds and stuff, so the question is how do i keep them without copying the original IFOs?

Use the method you have just experienced: copy the original IFOs, and do a mock strip. This method works fine.
But remember that you cannot copy the original VOBs (or IFOs) without doing a mock strip, or your DVD will be unplayable on a standalone.
Another method: You may import the original menus and the original commands and color tables in the remuxed DVD, with PgcEdit. But this method is somewhat more complicated and time consuming.

i think i'l use the mock strip method, much more simple :) thanks r0lZ :P
btw, could you help me with highlighting a newly added button?
I got a menu, witch i'v added a new button to, and now i wanna highlight it as the other buttons has (a box beside it or get colored or somthing). i know its something with the .sup file, and SubRip, i just don't know what to do with it :P

That's difficult. You have to create a new subpic image, or demux and modify the original subpic, and remux it with your original video and audio. But I'm not an expert on this matter.
Another, simple way to create an highlight is to change the color scheme number of that button (use an unused scheme), and play around with the color index and opacity. You have to try the menu with a player until you have something working. With this method, you will only be able to create a simple translucent rectangle, but it works without reauthoring the VOB.

i know i need to demux the .VOB into .sup .m2v and .ac3 then edit the .sup, but the problem is i don't know how to edit the .sup.. does SubRip do that?

No SubRip is only a ripper.
To modify a still frame menu, see, for example, this guide (http://dvdguides.netgeekhosting.com/guides/edit_menu/).

I have same problem on dvd I split to 2 dvd5.
I know its not 0byte files, and about second possibility, I am not sure where to look :( I dont know PcgEdit well..

Anyway, in PgcEdit, look at the left pane. The menu PGCs are labelled with VMGM or VTSM. A PGC has video contents if there is a timing between parenthesis in the PGC label. It has no video if there is "(dummy)" instead.
Begins by looking at all VMGM PGCs. If all PGCs are dummies AND there is a VIDEO_TS.VOB file, then right click on any of these VMGM PGCs and select "Blank Out all menu PGCs".
Repeat for VTSM 1 (with VTS_01_0.VOB), VTSM 2 (VTS_02_0.VOB), etc...
Save and test.
