encoding dvd9 movie with cce is no doubt better then using dvdshrink .
no here is the tricky question that im looking the answer :
i use dvdrebuilder to encode my dvd9 movies , dvdrebuilder doesnt let u the option to remove extras which dvdshrink let u do only movie , in that case which resault will be better the 4.7gb of only the movie made by dvdshrink or 4.7 with all the extras that was made by dvdrebuilder.
thanx .
p.s
is there a way to remove the extras before working with dvdrebuilder ?

ye prepare the movie with dvd-rb then use the segment editor to blank out the extras - or tell it to do only the main movie or main movie + extras (thats if you want all the extras gone)

Clone DVD will remove the extras and leave just the movie, but you're probably looking for a free option. Either way, it's better to keep the extras and re-encode with dvdrb and cce, it will ALWAYS look better then done with shrink imho (unless, of course, stripping the extras puts the movie at 4.38 GB)

The answer to the quality issue (main movie quality using "movie only" in Shrink as opposed to movie quality encoding entire DVD with Rebuilder) is the one most people dread hearing: It depends.
For example, Saving Private Ryan would look pretty compromised with either approach. On the other hand, you could create a movie-only project with DVD Shrink -- selecting "no compression" -- then use DVD Rebuilder for processing, and pretty much have a Best-You-Can-Do result. Or, if you'd like to only use one program for the whole sh'bang, you can donate to Jdobbs and get the pro version of Rebuilder, which has the "movie-only" option. NOW, there are certain movies (Hellboy comes to mind) where the movie itself will fit on a 4.7GB disk -- using "movie only" -- without any re-encoding at all; thus giving you the full original's quality... so in that instance, you'd get better results using Shrink over processing the full disk with Rebuilder.
So, again... it depends!

I have DVD Rebuilder Pro v.93.2 which has a Movie only selection. If you want the main movie only, donate to jdobbs and upgrade to the Pro version. It has other useful features that you will not find in the free version.
@Hostile_Monk
it's better to keep the extras
Not for me, I almost always dump the extras. To get the best quality main movie possible.

Well..I dump the extra's..but keep the main menu...only if the DVD has DTS and DD5.1. (Using MenuShrink and DVDRemakePro
That way I can select the audio from the DVD menu and not use the audio button on my DVD player.
If I lend the DVD to a friend..I don;t want them to have to fiddle with their DVD remote...just and added touch

But with Rebuilder PRO you can make that too... just use the option "Movie and Menus Only (Blank Extras)" under menu "Mode"

Rockas,
I did not know that..I will have to try it. I have been a RB supporter for months..but never used it yet. I have been happy with DVDRemakePro, DVDShrink, MenuShrink and VOBBlanker. I am now experimenting with DVDRB.
What program do I use and is it easy to compare outputs (bitrates-quality)
Thanks for your help....your skin in RB is cool

OMG...is that true?.
I'm a PRO user, but didn't realize that we had that option.
So far, I was getting rid of extras with TitleSetBlanker, and then using DVDShrink or DVD-RB if it is a really long movie.
So basically, I can do the same just with DVD-RB PRO???
