Well, I'm assuming it's also dependent on the way the encoder works, but when using both CCE and HC, and using teh same drive for workign and output, I always use about twice the size of a DVD5. Using 10GB, I've never had a problem. Be aware that if you've set DVD-RB to make an ISO as well, you'll need another 4.5 GB to hold it.

Also, if your using QMatOP, you need at least a few hundred MB of free space ont eh drive it's installed to for working space.

I wouldn't say 3.35 GB is safe. Most DVDs will require more space than that for the re-encoded video. The maximium size is around 1 DVD-R + 30 MB with CCE, +5 MB with other encoders. A 'safe' maximium would be around 4.2 GB. I would think 99% of discs wouldn't need more room than that.

I was only talking of the avs folder where all the ecl files are put... But I think you are right, 3.35 is too tight. I'd rather wait to get my new hard disk drive that should come on Monday.
thanks
