Hi to you all and thanks for the great job;
I've got a question on x264cli 2pass encoding; I wonder if the options of the 1st pass must be the same as the 2nd pass to have a good job.
I see that MEGUI Automated 2pass creates 2 jobs: in the 1st job, it always use --qp 26, whereas in the 2nd --bitrate (selected bitrate) and, if you choose "Turbo", in the 1st pass it uses --subme 3 and --analyse p8x8,i4x4 too.
I know that different options in the 1st pass produce different stats files.
What's the general rule?
Where can I find informations about x264's stats and how it uses them?
thank you all :-)

and by the way the last two versions of MeGUI do not longer use QP for the first pass ;)

what do you want to say with that :stupid:?
that I am stupid?
I know I'm stupid, because "I know that I know nothing" (just the right words in the bond signature) and that already is a step forward.
I don't need you to tell me I'm stupid
I think a stupid person is the one who thinks not to be stupid.
Maybe you're going to be remembered as the "Programmer of the 3rd Millennium" and I'm happy for you, but I simply asked for a technical thing and I don't need your personal opinion outside the technical field.
If you don't want to share your knowledge, don't reply to stupid posts
I know the "search" button ad I've already used it, but
as I haven't found what I'm looking for, and, as questions like "How to use a CLI version of x264 codec" got a lot of answers, I decided to post my stupid questions.
I apologize for my stupid post, maybe I should have posted it in the newbies section
Mods erase it
Have a nice weekend
