Hi, I know this seem to have been discussed in previous thread but i did not find a response in the thread i've looked.
I've been using DVD-Rb from a long time and this is the first error i got. This happen after i click the rebuild.
The movie i was doing was Sideways.
Using CCE SP 2.67.00.27.
This is the second DVD i've done since I reinstall windows.
- I've installed RB 0.93.3 pro version
- Movie and menu only
Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, I to have had this error with DVD-RB 0.93a & CCE SP 2.67.xx.xx.
I don't know what caused the error but I wanted to ask you a question.
Are you Running Diskeeper 8-9 in auto defrag mode? I wonder if the file sometimes gets locked by Diskeeper defragmenting so DVD-RB can not write to the file and generates this error. I have no real idea why this error happens, I just wondered if this is a possible course?
Any comments on my idea welcome :)

No, sorry, i'm not running diskkepper...
I've retried the movie again, still no result. I've then tried Ocean 12, which works fine.
Does anyone know if there's issues with cce sp 2.67.xx.xx?
Thx

I use 2.67.00.27, and I did Sideways with no problems.
OTOH, the best thing to do with Sideways is to delete it before watching it. :-( It's a REALLY bad movie.

Haha, nice.
Ok, but still, that does not resolved the error #0006. I don't know if someone working on DVD-Rb can help me? I've seen that normally all problem are solved, I'm sure someone can give me help on this...
I've also tried another movie this week-end and i got the same error. 2 errors on 3 dvd's, it's weird...
Perhaps Jdobbs can help me?

I had the same problem with the Star Wars Episode 1. I was to get rid of the error by processing the original files through DVDShrink with no compression first and then using RB.

I just recieved this error on Tha Day After Tomorrow NTSC Widescreen. I was doing it Movie and Menus only with CCE 2.7.whatever, 3 pass. Just wondering what normally causes this error.

I found something like that this weekend.
I noticed that Decrypter reported some damaged sectors... did that happened to you?

I didn't get any error when dumping with decrypter.

Me neither...
All went ok with dvd decrypter. I did not tried the dvd-shrink thing yet though, but i did not pass it through another editing program, like dvd-remake.
Are everyone having the errors is working with CCE, can it be related?
And to repeat if this can be any good, it's the first 2 errors i've experienced. Last version i've used before was 0.87. Now i've installed 0.93.2.

I started it again and it again failed at the same place. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't some quirk that was happening. This version of RB has been running smoothly for me without any errors up until this title.

Can it have some ARCCOS protection?
Have you tried to rip it using AnyDVD?
Xuivo

I'"ve ripped through dvd decrypter without any problem. I did not have any protection error or warning.

Anybody got a clue? Maybe a fix in future release?

I've just got the same error 6 problem trying to rebuild City Of God.
The only thing I've changed recently is the HC encoder (v0.15), so I was inclined to think the problem is with the source. I note Rockas' experience with decrypter, but this disk definately has no bad sectors.
I've ran the disk through dvdrb with no compression and it works fine. This leads me to think its something I did! There was no preprocessing, ripped iso file mounted in daemon tools, and I blanked the trailers with the segment viewer before starting the encode.
I'm currently running another test run with HC v0.15 with the fast option instead of best. If this fails then it looks like HC is in the clear and it's a potential issue with the blanking option.
Cheers.

The entire disk with no blanking, encoded with HC 0.15 in fast mode has worked.
The only factors that differ from the error 6 attempt are the video segment blanking of trailers in dvdrb, and HC's best encoding mode.
I will run the whole disk with HC best to narrow this down, but that's going to take some time.
In the meantime does anyone have any suggestions for what to try next? I was thinking of trying vobblanker to preprocess the unwanted material, but that would be breaking one of the cardinal rules for bug reporting :)

Has anyone managed to use the video segment blanking option with the no compression option in dvdrb? It would have been a nice quick test option, but I get the whole disk regardless of the any video I choose to replace.

No at this point that it's not possible.

Thanks for the confirmation Rockas.
I've finished running the full disk without any video segment blanking and encoding with HC's best option and it works fine, so there is definately an issue with blanking the trailers and studio intro.

Looking back at the 1st attempt with error 6, I've notice after pressing the rebuild button it asks the usual question of "Do you want to overwrite...", then after selecting Yes it comes up with the same question again. Selecting Yes for a second time then starts the rebuild process.
It's failing on vts03, segment 1, vobid 1, cellid 2, and the rebuilder.inf file has this section:-
[V03000100001002]
SCR=1266249.143
PTS=1288800.000
Frame_Rate_Code=3
Pulldown=0
Structure=3
Frames=10
First_Sector=8031
Last_Sector=8227
Reduction=56.1
Aspect_Ratio=2
HalfD1=0
Convert16=0
EndPTM=1324800.000
Audio_Sub_Sectors=1
Video_Sectors=108
Action=1
I'll try not blanking out this tiny part of the extras, maybe that's causing dvdrb to get upset.

I renamed the avs, flg and m2v file in my original error 6 set of files, and replaced them with equivalents copied from my full disk test. This has allowed me to continue with the rebuild.
Comparing the working and non-working avs files has thrown up a potential clue. The extra line to blank the content refers to (last, 12) whereas the rebuilder.inf showed it only contained 10 frames.
Could this be the reason for my framecount discrepancy?

Got my first "error 0006 today.
ERROR 0006: DVD-RB has found framecount differences between the PREPARE and the REBUILD phases
The movie was TITAN AE region 1.
Dvd-Rebuilder v0.932
Setting: Movie And Menu Only.
Avisynth 2.55
DVDDecrypter full rip in filemode, no preprosessing.
I've never get this error when i blank using Vobblanker.
There seem to be something wrong with dvd-rb's own "preprossessing"

Are you using a CCE version or any other encoder? As anyone tried the same disk with another dvd-rb version?
Tore

I'm using CCE SP 2.67.00.27.
Haven't tried a different version or another encoder like HC Enc.

Xuivo, I wonder if Sideways contains any small segments (less than 12 frames) that are being blanked out when you choose Movie and Menu only? If so, it could be the same problem I described above.
If you were to do the full disk without blanking anything it would probably work fine.
It might be worth a quick look in the segment viewer and choose not to blank the small items, and see if this stops the error.

Tore, when I used to use Vobblanker to preprocess it seemed to insert smaller dummy segments than those from dvdrb.
Hopefully we have a pattern emerging from these few tests.

I'll try to process Sideways fully, not with menu and movie mode only. I'll give you the results soon!

Well, I've just repeated processing City of God. I blanked all the trailers and studio logo like before, but I excluded blanking the 10 frame clips as well as the 1 frame clips that are skipped by default.
Everything worked fine and there was no error 6 on rebuild, finally!
I would be pleased to hear from anyone else who has had the same problem and can verify this works for them too.

As an aside, I've just finished The Corporation and I chose to blank most of the extras. They were seperated with small 15 frame clips, and these have blanked successfully.
Has anyone still having the error 6 problem found any small frame clips at their point of failure?
If not, this theory is looking half baked despite it solving my issue with City of God.
Ho hum. ;)
