The fact that the Norwegian television channel TVNorge lost 10% of their viewers on the series "Lost" to download and bittorrent inspired me to take up cartoon drawing.
It puzzles me that the big studios don't get it. Wake up! The tale of how Bob the Millionaire became a pirate is based on a true story:

My little story has made some interesting discussions around, and I thought that the people over here at Doom9 might have some interesting thoughts...?

I totally disagree - really that guy (even though he's a millionaire) must have really nothing to do than to watch one episode after another. I mean have people totally lost their patience and are willing to infringe on copyrights and just download it because its become so mainstream hence just legal?
You do know that even if they finally sell it online - it will be heavily DRM'ed and then there will be another outcry?
What amazes me even more is that for a lot of people it must be a matter of course to download it rather than to watch it legally on TV - just because the story is sooo exciting.
While there are pros to a recording over a "live airing" - you can rewatch scenes, skip ads (or have none to begin with) and you can watch it when you feel like - do you really think there will be enough demand to buy episodes online to justify the efforts on the side of content producers?
I dont really care about the whole thing but I dont really buy that most people are willing to pay for being up2date. There is a point in your comics - but its rather minor IMHO - and I think its a bit over the top with the "They want you to be a pirate" thingy ;)
PS Similar stuff was on the news page last month, Perhaps you've heard about the MPAA's latest move - this time against Internet portals that offer TV series for download. However, not everybody believes those portals do any damage - in fact, piracy of TV episodes has boosted the popularity of certain shows in the recent past. But quite obviously, rethinking their business models, or give in to viewers that want to have their show now, rather than when some studio exec decides it is ready, is about as likely to happen as life on Pluto ;)
Yes that would be nice for the viewers - but I dont see that happening in an attractive way.

No, Bob the Millionaire did not break any Norwegian laws. In Norway it is actually not illegal do download movies from the net.
But, it will be. The politicians are working hard to adjust the law...
