I have received a few movies from Russia within the last week. I live in Trinidad and Tobago, my region code is 1. When trying to playback the movies on a few DVD players (Samsung, hitachi, Sharp) I get on the screen

Wrong TV system

Please check disc

But they play perfectly fine on an Apexi player (haven't had any more players to test them on)

At first i thought it was a region problem but when I checked the DVDs in DVD Decrypter it was region free and protection free. I have tried copying the DVDs using DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink and Nero 6.6.0.13. Each time with the same above result on playback

Any help would be greatly apprecaited...I do apologise if I have posted this in the wrong section..

Thank You

I'd say the disc you've got contain PAL material (720x576, 50 fields per second), while your player only can play NTSC (720x480, 60 fields per second). AFAIK the APEX players convert this material on playback (probably by throwing out every second field and duplicating a few frames), but many other players simply refuse to play such material...

np: Adam Johnson - Traber (Chigliak)
