View Full Version : DIF4U gives main movie no-cce filename

I'm working on On Her Majesty's Secret Service R1.
I get it all demuxed and everything correctly, however, DIF4U says the main movie doesn't meet encoding threshold and flags it as no-cce.
I was just wondering how DIF4U determines if a video should be encoded or not - it's obviously not size, as this m2v is 4 GB by itself..
open the .AVS file in wmv or mpc....
if there's a problem w/ avisynth (or the d2v or just that script) doitfast4u will see that as a small "no-cce" asset instead of seeing it correctly

OK, media player plays the AVS just fine - shows not quite the right duration, but that's been my experience with Media Player.
Interestingly enough, I went to compile my project, and sure enough, even though I identified that particular file as Main in Scenaid, because it's got no-cce in the filename, Scenaid ignores this asset as well. I guess I can just use Scenaid as a tool to figure out what the average bitrate should be, and load the AVS into BEM2V, will there be any problem with this workaround?
It would appear that Scenaid is looking at the no-cce in the filename as gospel, maybe it shouldn't?
Thanks for all of your help - it's amazing the amount of weird issues one will run across when learning to re-master these DVDs..
yeah currently it does look at it for encoding choice...
what version of doitfast4u are you using? I'm sure eyes`only would like to see the log
also, min size to encode is in the options of doitfast4u, make sure that didn't get messed up somehow and is set real high

I'm definitely interested. Luckily this is an R1 movie so I may be able to get it myself and see what's going on.
DoItFast4U uses an AVI API to open the .avs file and determine it's length, etc. It's rarely flawed.

I'm currently using the latest DIF4U available to unemployed moneyless losers :(
(not that it's a bad program.. just haven't had the cash flow to chip in)
I've actually got the encode option set very low, 80MB, I believe..
I'll just do it manually. Just hadn't seen that before. DIF4U has been golden for so many projects so far, it struck me as odd..
Here's the log file, if you're interested (http://www.anneechols.com/files/doitfast4u.rar)
thanks again.

If you remove the no-cce from the filename (and give it the proper name) and let scenaid do the bitrate calcs you'll have a quick work around I guess.

80mg for min encoding? that's darn high.. - i think mine is set to 2mg
you sure your looking at the min encoding and not the min VTS set to process (ones under options, one is on the main page)

Yeah, you're right.. I had those two mixed up. My min MB to re-encode is set to 10MB.
I tried to remove the no-cce from all of the filenames, but for some reason, nothing works after that. I went into the D2V and AVS file and changed the filenames there, as well, but still wouldn't work.
Not sure if there's some other piece I'm missing?
If I just reencode it by loading the AVS in BEM2V, what is the fallout? When I look at the ccedata file that Scenaid creates, there are a LOT of fields in there. What are the potential issues from this workaround?
Thanks..
