Hi All.

I decided to take Finding Nero on a camping trip, so I tried to make a copy to preserve the original.

I used DVD Shrink and all I got was a very pixalated coaster.

I then tried DVD Decrypt and them used DVD Shrink......another coaster as above.

I read about Img Tool burn so I thought I would incorporate all 3 as I think that would be the way to go reading the Web instructions in the use of the above programs.

Now the problem.

Each description goes into great detail on using each program, but I can not seem to find a simple set by step instruction on how to use all 3 hammers to crack one nut.

Can any one please give me a no frills step by step instructions how to incorporate all 3 programs so that I can...
1. decrypt
2. shrink and remove un necessary material to lessen the compression
3. and finally, run the Img Tool burn through Nero 6.3

Regards :stupid:

hi there,

all u should need is DVD Shrink and DVD Decrytper...

follow the guides, analyse the movie with Shrink, which u can configure to rip out all the stuff u dont want...then burn with DVD Decrypter

that will give u a perfect copy, albeit of slightly less quality than the original but not noticeably so

This link will take you to a guide that is one of the simplest ways to remove all extras, resulting in a "main-movie-only" backup copy. While you're on the Shrink site, poke around and get a feel for the place and the information that's laid out for us there. In particular, check out the entire "Guides" page and read up on what you can do with Shrink if you really want to get "down and dirty" with it. Great stuff!

DVDShrink Basic Guide (http://www.dvdshrink.info/re-author-v3beta5.php).

Get stuck, post back with as many details as possible.

I prefer CloneDVD along with DVD Decrypter - after ripping the entire disc in file mode, it's just a few clicks to burn the disc with CloneDVD, or if it's a long movie or a lot of extras, you just deselect features or languages you don't want, or just select the movie.

Thanks guys.

AMMCH55, that is a good link, is there anyway to download those animated tutorials to my hard drive, it would be handy to run them on the laptop as I fool with the PC trying to get things done.

I do still have a question.

Is it possible to use and burn 'just_the_ movie' with DVD Decrypt and delete or remove all other superfluous material?

Regards

You'll need a screen capture app of some kind to get Satish's Wink tutorials to your hard drive. I don't have a link close by, but run a forum search on "screen capture" or some such keywords and you'll track down the info.

Here's a link to Doom9's DVD Decrypter Guide (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/dvddec.htm), you might find it interesting, and helpful.
