Hi,
I author with Scenarist. Scenarist is a professional authoring program that meticulously respects the DVD-Video Standard. If you have used this program, you know when you import a 352x576 16:9 mpeg-2 stream, it doesn't treat it as a real 16:9, but a 4:3, and thus doesn't allow for example personalize the subtitles (as letterboxed, pan&scan and/or wide). Also, I've been reading in some webs, and it seems 352x576 16:9 isn't actually standard.
Well, DVD-Rebuilder in "Resize to Half D1" changes the resolución from 720x576 to 352x576 and mark the mpeg-2 stream as 16:9.
My question is:
- this new DVD is still standard ?
- has someone had any problem with this new DVD and its subtitles in a widescreen TV ? (I don't have one so I haven't check this)
Thanks, best regards.
