Red picture over SCART

I got a new DVD player (Cyberhome CH-DVD 401) which seems to be pretty good but I'm having a little problem. The DVD player does support RGB over SCART (and also S-Video, I think) but my TV doesn't (neither RGB nor S-Video).
Now when I connect via SCART cable I get a red picture only (luma+red) . Is that normal or should the player also support composite via SCART?

btw. when I connect a cinch cable to the players output and use a cinch to SCART adapter on the tv, then the picture is perfect, so the player is ok (but maybe the SCART output is not??)

The player should indeed be able to offer all three selection modes (composite, s-video and RGB) via scart.

If there's no dedicated composite output mode, try the RGB output mode because it also provides a full composite video signal ;)

Thanks! I just found the setting "RGB/S-Video" (I thought there wasn't any setting for the SCART output)
With the RGB setting the composite signal is coming through via SCART.

The question remains where does the red color come from when the SCART output is set to S-Video? Usually you only see b/w when you connect S-Video SCART to a non S-Video compliant tv... :confused: :confused:

Because pin #15 of a SCART-cable is Red-Out in RGB-mode and Chroma-Out in S-Video-Mode. I guess SMD is right: Your TV understands RGB :D
