I have found a strange problem caused by VOB Split (I presume).

Some years ago I had some large DVD's that would not fit well into a 4.3Gb disc so I used VOV Split (one of Derrows tools to which I subscribed) to split the DVD on to two disc's, this worked 100%. I am now in a position with a better encoder to be able to put it back onto one DVD or a dule layer disc.

First I demux both DVD's to Cell ID to give me two sets of chapters using VobEdit. Then I rename the chapters from disc two to be consecutive to those obtained from disc one. Then I use VobEdit again to join VOBCells to give me one new set of combined VOB files. Then I use IfoEdit to create a set of IFO files. Last step before burning is again with IfoEdit.... GetVTS Sectors. Then I recode and burn.

The result is a DVD in which the times are all mixed up and the chapters do not play in the correct order.

Where have I gone wrong and how can I correct the problem.

ifoedit has some guides on that. Joining Clips/Joining double sided DVDs (http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/joinclip.html#joindbl)
or you can use dvdshrink in re-author mode.

oh ya, if you ever need to edit chapters try using pgcedit.
