WinXP SP2 can't see JVC GR-DVP7E

A friend brought his JVC GR-DVP7E camcorder around today but for some reason my PC can't detect it via the FireWire connection!

Is there any particular reason why my WinXP SP2 PC can't see this camcorder!

I've tried everything I can think of to get this camcorder to be recognized... but it's a bust.

And I can't use my own camcorder because my "in-laws" are borrowing it... and they're in France :angry:

I dunno, why is it when you try and do a favour for somebody. Something always bits you in the ass?
