I am burning using DVD Decrypter and DVD shrink. When I burn to Imation DVD+RW diskx, all is fine. When I burn the same file to my Maxell DVD+R disks, I get a no disk error in my DVD player. I am using a Sony DRU-530A burner. Any idea why this would happen?

Buy a decent DVD Burner. :p Basically any DVD Burner without Sony's name on the front should do. :D
Sorry but I just don't like Sony burners or their DVD standalone players. :)

Like and don't like really don't play into media compatibility issues, which is most probably at the root of chrismark's problem. :) I've had, and heard of, problems with Maxell in the past, but that goes back to those particular discs not being compatible with my hardware setup.
Check both your player and burner against the info found in these databases: (The player link is what you really need, right now, but since both of these links are stored together, I'll roll out a two-fer.)
Player/media compatibility (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers)
Burner/media compatibility (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdwriters)
Find media that works all the way from your burner to your set-top box and buy a boatload of it when it comes on sale. Store it in a cool, dark place. Have some fun, and welcome to the forum!

Why is that, Zyphon?
well, i'm not zyphon, but i also had a sony burner a while ago, actually until last fall, when it crapped out on me, just about one month after the warranty ran out. befor that, i just had mixed feelings about it. it's wasn't a bad burner, but it was a really picky burner. it didn't like about two thirds of the media i fed it, and that's true for both DVD-R and CD-R - all the same it basically only liked SONy media (on purpose or not, i don't know) and a few selected other brands...
anyway, now i have a NEC 3500A burner and am very delighted. it just works :), so if you're looking into buying a new burner, i'd definitely recommend looking into buying a NEC!
