I know that when you use scenearist you get more options but all i want to do is copy dvds to the best quality and remove those anoying unskipable parts at the beggining.

Does scenarist ofeer any improvement in quality at all?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean, but..... how about something like dvdshrink.

Scenarist is a high-end authoring program used by professional studios. It doesn't offer any operation like DVDShrink.
If you want reauthor DVD use DVDShrink. It's a good software for that.

Dvdshrink gives poor quality, i prefer to use CEE encoder. If your using DVD shrink you should really consider changing. DVD rebuilder shrinks dvd9 to dvd5 with no noticble loss in quality.
