hi all,
I was wondering...is there a way to avoid to copy the files from a DVD which has been already been decrypted into and mounted from an .iso by dvddecrypter? this would allow to save a lot of space, since decrypted files are already on the mounted image...
I mean: first you make an .iso with dvddecrypter, then run all the files needed in the process pretending you already have the decrypted files, which can be found in the mounted iso...is this something doable? can dif4u, numenu4u, scenarist, batchccews catch those files or do they need them all together somewhere on a common folder?
Thanks guys,
Gemon
all the current applications rely on {DEMUXDIR}\VIDEO_TS for the bitrate calculations...
plus once you reauthor, this directory is needed for proper ifoupdating and obtaining of sector information
is it possible to do what your asking, yes but you'd have to end up copying them over anyway before you could finish the process

i think that copying over is not a problem...fact is i'd like to avoid to have multiple copies of the same thing:
of the same vts, i have:
1. the copy inside the .iso image on the hd
2. the copy which is copied the second time with dvddecrypter
3. the demuxed version
4. the encoded version
if it is a double layer dvd this ends up with having 3x8+4=28 GB!!
if at least i could avoid copy #2 i would be very pleased :)))
any idea how i can do this?

I guess I don't understand what your asking then
Normally you have
1) the iso make by dvd decrypter
2) your demuxed assets in each VTS dir
3) your undemuxed assets in a VIDEO_TS directory
4) the re-encoded files
You can in theory skip the ISO step although if you runinto problems it will be the first thing we tell you to do (make a iso)
How do you expect to re-encode w/out the demuxed assets
how do you expect to re-author w/out the re-encoded assets
Drive space is cheap man, if you can't afford 20gig per disk, upgrade

It's actually still pretty cheap... I saw a 200gb external hdd (usb2) for <$100USD at Fry's the other day ;)
