Hi

I wonder if anybody here knows of any DVD player software that the folloing feature:

-Indicates timecode. All DVD players I have checked out show HH:MM:SS. I am looking for one that will show HH:MM:SS:FF (hours, minutes, seconds and frames).

-Has a feature to go one frame forward at a time.

-Has a feature to go backward one frame at a time.

Does anyone know of a DVD player software that will do this? I would be soooo happy for help on this.

Thanks
/Marlowe

FFdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder has built-in OSD functions.
I lost more then 20 minutes how to switch off this, data automaticly appeared on video when playing on MPC, mplayer2 or WMP.

Thanks for your reply. I tried to install the filter/codec/program that you mentioned. But I still cannot see any changes in any of the DVD player softwares I try. Is there by any chance a player that has those feature as default?

Open video in mplayer2 /from WMP folder/
Right click on the screen> properties> ffdshow Mpeg-4 Video Decoder> OSD

set what you want and result will be as below

Thanks again for your reply. But this mplayer2, is that really a DVD player? I cannot get it to play my DVD-disks... I was sort of hoping to find a "regular" DVD player software that had the features I'm looking for.

Ask Phyz, he is working on DVD player and I am sure that he can introduce every your fancies. Take a look for very good quality inscriptions on the screen.

My ears are burning! :)

I use the Microsoft provided Navigator in my player which only provides timings to the nearest second. It claims to provide information on frame number but in reality the frame number never changes. Any other software that uses the standard MS software will have the same problem.

PowerDVD 6 and Nero come with their own DVD Navigators so may or may not do what you want.

Other than that your best bet may well be the players that have mpeg2 decoding built into them.
