Having a bit of trouble.Ive demux,re-encoded and created a script with scenaid 1.6.0.0. But when i load the script into scenarist(v2.6) after loading in the mpv, the audio and subs scenarist crash's.If i then double click on the scn file that was created and go to scenario editor all in shows up is a load of gray boxs with black ones of those film take boards. And under track editor it does'nt show any chapters. Ive checked the created script and that points to the correct mpv file.
This is what i done.I demux by pgc with dif4u(dvd decrypter version 3.5.4.0),i opened the demux folder in scenaid and then clicked build scenarist scrip, after script was done i closed scenaid.I then opened cce and loaded the avs and encoded as normal.
Then i load the script and then what is explained above happens.
Oh this is layer cake. One of those films that has a load of frames at the beginning in the ifo under 10 frames long.
any angles?
If so, sounds like non-seamless angles which 2.6/2.7 can't handle...
if not, zip up the scp and shoot it over

Nope, no angles.I'll send the script to the contact adress at the bottom of the scenaid site

Those short little cells or vobu's are probably a stillshow or slideshow.
hmm..
send me the .ifo and the scenaid.log please...
interesting thing is, there's no scenes in the script.. all 1 big one and a bunch of dummy cells after it...
(which imports fine into Scenarist 3.0)

Sent... I had a quick look in the log myself and it says Encoded Asset: D:\Layer_Cake_Project\VTS04\VTS__04_P01.16~9_1.mpv Does Not Exist although it is there.I think its saying that because i made the script before encoding.
yeah that's a double check if encoding is needed
well that disk is definatly arccos.... (or some other cell protection method)
and unfortunatly for you, will need to be done by vobid not pgc...

So the only way i can get this to compile properly is to demux by vobid, no way to to it by pgc i dont mind haveing to re-encode again.... does this go for all arccos proteched discs so i know in future.
that's the only way I've been able to get them to work right w/ Scenaid currently
I can't recreate those short cells in Scenarist or Muxman so the only way is to do it by vobid and get rid of the arccos vobid

I see...
So what i have to do for arccos discs is demux by vobid,re-encode and create the script.Scenaid removes the arccos vobid. One question though, removing the vobid, will this effect the ifoupdate as the first lot of cells that are in that 1st id are no longer there.? also do i need to tick add silence to vobid demux?
Scenaid removes the arccos vobid. no.
iirc you will have to manually deselect that vobid in scenaid.
use the button that represents the vts in question, once scenaid has finished scanning the folder. this brings up the assets for that vts. deselect the vobid in question, so it is no longer ticked. create script.
OR
prior to scanning by scenaid. open up the vts_xx demux folder and rename the vobid in questions .avs to something else eg .noavs, save, then run scenaid. One question though, removing the vobid, will this effect the ifoupdate as the first lot of cells that are in that 1st id are no longer there.? scenaid should dummy these with blank video, so everything should be finealso do i need to tick add silence to vobid demux? not sure if it is necessary, but ceratinly advisable.

I see
Thanks for the help people, i'll give it a try in the next day or so.
I asked about ticking add silence to vobid demux on the audio as i dont have dvd2avidg or mpeg2dec3dg.dll in dif4u so as theres only the original versions of them in with dif4u theres a couple of frames lost, i remember this from doing a seamless disc once, the audio went out of sync.So does ticking add silence stop the audio dropping out of sync.
if your not using DG w/ doitfast4u I'd highly advise downloading dgindex/dgdecode package and using Scenaid's bitrates w/ the new "create new d2v/avs" option

OK.
I already have dvd2avidg.exe and mpeg2dec3dg.dll, so i could replace the files in the dif4u folder with these ones, i would just need to rename one and add the other to the script.
where can i get the dgindex/dgdecode package from so i can use that option in scenaid.
even when using one of these options do i still need to tick add silence to vobid demux on the audio ??
One more thing if you dont mind... i was running a demux by vobid in dif4u and when vobsub was demuxing the subs i notice thins message...
WARNING: Bad sector header at block ????????!
This message was there alot just with different numbers where the ? marks are.
Never got that when demuxing by pgc.or i dont remember seeing it
you can't just copy in the new files to the doitfast4u directory... there was an Old Old post on how to get 1.4.0 to use dg - you'll have to search for it
There's a post on the main page about the new beta of the "DG" suite - you can it from there - just extract dgdecode.dll and dgindex.exe into the scenaid install directory and next time ytou run the option will be available
the add silence option is almost always needed in a vobid demux or you'll run into "audio is XX frames too short" errors
Those Bad sector header messages are a result of the arccos.... dvd decrypter just pads those sectors w/ dummy info which vsrip sees as junk.... nothing to worry about

OK, i got dgmpgdec131b5 zip file, ive extracted the files into scenaid. So now for any discs i do that need to be done be vobid i need to tick that option. This saves me having to change any files in dif4u.
So now im sorted.
Demux by vobid,Create script with scenaid with create new d2v/avs and add silence to vobid demux on the audio ticked and the first vobid under the vts tab unticked like jel said.Re-encode and then load script and check the dummy files and change any that need to be change to 00:00:00.12(was told this in a early post) and then compile.
Thanks for the help once again.
