Help!
I've been using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink for a while now and find them very good files. My problem is that when I have burned a movie onto a disk I then delete the decrypted and shrink files off my system. Because the files are too large for the recycle bin Windows (mine is XP) asks you if you wish it to be permanently deleted. After saying yes the files are erased but the used up space for the files is not 100% given back, eg, a decypted files is 8GB and the seperate shrunk file is 4.5GB, therefore I have 12.5GB of space to be put back but I only get say 9GB back. When I check the pie chart it shows I have data still on the drive but it has been deleted. Any ideas anyone? This also happened on a friends pc so i know its not my pc playing up.

Could it be that one file wasn´t removed but placed in the recycle bin?

Thanks for the feedback but all the files are deleted and not one of them hits the recycle bin, really strange. One of my drvies I use for DVD burning only and at the moment no files are on but the status shows 5GB of data is somewhere. I wonder if Windows cannot handle large files when deleting.

You don't happen to have Norton protected recycle bin?

Use this link to download the application.
Sequoia gives you a picture of your computer bloat.
For example, one folder on your hard drive may have one kilobyte
and another may have one gigabyte, but to look at them they look the same. What this app. does is show you a visual picture of where the bloat is located so you can delete it if you want.
You will definitely find your hidden and bloated files with this app., delete and enjoy the view.
Regards,:)
P.S. let me know if you like it.

You are better off by right clicking on the Recycle Bin, and turning the protection off.

Either that, or the next time you delete a file, right-click and select "Shred Recycle Bin" instead of "Empty." This option is grayed out after you empty it, but the files are still there. (They're still there anyway as Windows only deletes the file headers, but the space is usable.)

Thanks everyone for your help, I'm back on track now... with plenty of hard drive space !!!!!
One question if I may ask, and It's causing me no ends of problems.
I recently bought a Maxtor Diamond 9 160GB hard drive (8MB buffer) primarily for use with my decrypting and shrinking of movies. The problem is it's reading and writing real slow. On my main C Drive i'm running at 31,188kps but on my new drive it's only 1,773kps. This takes me approx 1 1/4 hours to decrypt and over 3 hours to shrink ! But on my older Maxtor drive its runs far quicker....... I know the drive is connected correctly as a slave drive but its crazily slow.... 55 minx to burn a film on Nero where as its half that time on my main drive. I know this is more of a technical question butI don't know where else to go... Your help would be great. I'll pop this onto a seperate thread to try and gain more info but if any of you guys out there know I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks, turned off 'auto protect files'. How daft is that, you delete something but Norton decides you want it... doh!!!!!

P.S. Maybe we should start a thread somewhere named...COOL and USEFUL links, limited to Utilities and Audio/Video?
Maybe in the General Discussion Forum?
IF the powers that be don't mind.
