I have been backing up my DVD’s for a while now and I have stumbled across a few with this problem. I go into Nero 6 and I add the folder to the bit where you add the files and I click next, I choose the DVD drive then 4x Speed and click the burn button.

“DVD-Video Files compliance test failed. The Resulting DVD-Video may be unplayable. Do you want to Continue?”

I click YES and it continues and says this.

“There has been a possible read error during the operation, which may result in a defective write. Do you wish to continue anyway?

I continue with the burning and it finishes with no more errors. I have done this a few times with different DVD’s but the results the same. It does not work on my PS2 or my DVD player. It does work on my P.C but on one of them, the sound does not work.

WHY IS THIS? I am thinking it might be because there are backup files of the IFO’s in the folder I burnt. PLEASE HELP!

Hi & welcome to the forum,

yes, I can produce this error if I manipulated my ripped vobs :D - anyone can force this error. I don't think the "poll" will be very helpful to you ("How many ...have encountered...? - Yes/No???), better tell us HOW you do your backups - which software, which protocol etc.
