It the bottom right corner...the divx logo appears, briefly, then fades

Divx is asking for money.
Change to the decoder filter that you "payed already for".

Please refrain from writing stupid and untrue BS. Tnx.

About the logo thing: open the decoder options (start menu -> Programs -> DivX -> DivX Codec -> Decoder Configuration Utility), go to the Quality Settings Tab and select Disable Logo.

I forgot to say your DivX Decoder is configured to decode all Mpeg4 streams.
In the same configuration window you can disable the Support Generic Mpeg4 option and use another decoder for xvid (ffdshow, Xvid itself, Nero,3viX etc...)

Oh ok...I see. I had installed it and didn't like it. I had thought that
I had uninstalled it.

I thought it was related to the encoding process.

Thanks.

I would leave the divx logo on so you knows its divx codec thats executing, just untick the generic mpg4 option in the divx codec configuraiton utility and xvid will then do it.

I have seen some instances where even when it's disabled and has the fourCC of xvid and divx still decodes it. it's quite annoying. I've been trying to pinpoint why and the closest thing I can come up with is that it has something to do with the "basic non-pro" version of the divx decoder because the pro version works just fine to disable the generic mpeg4 playback.
