My PC is an Athlon XP 2400+ (2.0 GHz) with 512 MB of RAM - Windows XP SP2

I'm using Skystar2 with dvbviewer.

My average CPU usage, when capturing, is 80%. If I capture and use the PC at the same time, sometimes CPU usage go to 100%. So, I would like to know if digital capture have the same risk as analog capture, like dropped frames for example.

Thanks.

There are no frame drops "capturing" DVB, as it's in fact streaming of encoded video. But faults may occur, too. If there's a stream buffer overflow, you'll lose parts of the video, and you'll probably experience weird moving squares for a short time, before the picture turns back to normal again. Because DVB streaming is much less CPU intensive, and less demanding on PCI bandwidth, too, you'll have less problems compared with analogue capturing on the same machine.
