5.1 Audio In Scenarist

Just a quick question on audio set up, if i set up a stereo mix(audio track 1) and a 5.1 mix(audio track 2) do I have to flag which stream plays on insertion to a standalone player, or will the DVD player (if setup for surround)choose the appropriate stream.

I may be wrong but I think you only need the 5.1 mix. If played on a 2-channel setup the 6 channels should automatically downmix to 2/stereo. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong!

It can work either way. But for a downmix to occur it must be encoded with downmix parameters, and flagged as "Suitable for Dolby Surround decoding" in the ifo.
