I use ProjectX to demux a standard definition digital broadcast file captured from the Topfield 5000pvrt. No problems there - I can then edit and make a mpg file. The problem I have is that many programs like Oz as an example are in 4:3 within the 16:9 transmission. If I make a Divx once again there is no problem, AutoGK cuts off the black border and your left with a true 4:3 screen.
How do you do this if you want to make a conventional DVD - I have used DVD Architect, NeroVision Express. The resulting image is a 'postage stamp' within a black frame. I have tried forcing 16:9, 4:3 etc etc

The long long way around is to make a DivX and then a DVD from that file yuk!
Help needed...

There's really no need to go to any great amount of effort. Assuming you are using the SD program and not HD (why record the HD if you intend to write to DVD?), all you need is project-x and cuttermaran. Demux using project-x, chop ads using cuttermaran and then feed that into your fav DVD authoring program. No need to recode as SD in Australia is DVD compatible anyway.

You may need to set some flags to allow your DVD player to go into pan/scan mode (ie, zoom the centre part up so you can't see the black on the sides), but ifoedit will let you do that easily enough.

This has been covered more times than you can imagine at the DBA forum (http://www.dtvforum.info/).

Yep I was reminded of Infoedit, that solved the problem. Completely forgot about it as I have been making DivX files for the last 12 months or so. I use ProjectX followed by Womble to do the program editing in - it's very efficient and has a friendly interface. I prefer Sony DVD Architect over Nero to author DVD's and AutoGk is so straight forward for making DivX files.
