I have this problem.I have 2 avi files.Both files contain an AC3 audio format,both this files belong to the same movie,which means,main movie was split into 2.I joined them using the guide in this site.It seems to work fine when i play the "whole" file in a player.But when i encode it into D2S only half of the movie gets encoded!!!.I went and review the log on D2S and found out that some frames were missing,so i went back to Vdubmod to correct them using my original avi files but i can't seem to be able to preview nor decode the movie properly.
Why is that?,anyways,here is the Vdubmod log...and the Mplex log.
Please help me out. Thanks.

Here's the Vdubmod log:

[i] Starting up: VirtualDubMod build 2366/release

AVI: Opening file "D:\Apple\Movie1.avi.avi"

[!] Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'XVID' (unknown).
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to
decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media
Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this
video.

Beginning preview operation.

[E] Error: VideoSourceAVI: uncompressed frame 0 is short (expected 284160
bytes, got 2164)

Ending operation.

Here's the Mplex log...

What went wrong is that VDubMod does not correctly join AC3 streams and it causes the process to fail at the join.

There is a little commandline utility called AC3fix. Run it on the file "Encoded_audio_1.ac3" in your project folder. Call the output file something like "Encoded_audio_1_fixed.ac3"

Now rename the original audio file to something else and rename the fixed file back to "Encoded_audio_1.ac3"

The original file created by D2S will then have been replaced by the output of AC3fix. You can now crash-recover from the Muxing and Cutting stage.

Google should find AC3fix. The syntax is very simple but if you need walking through it, get back to us.

Thanks a lot Nick,like always,you are very prompt to help.
I did some research tho,but i remembered that D2S can also change the audio in a file,so i did that instead.The AC3 audio was changed by the default D2S one and it worked just fine,but i do have the AC3fix already tho.
Now i know it is totally out of the topic but,i encoded the movie with selectable subs and the subs came out rather "transparent",you can see them but they seem to "blend" with the movie and they do not stand out on their own.I had the anomorphic feature tho so the movie can be viewed on screen so the subs are blended with the movie.
I used the color palette of D2S and i used:
Transparent=Black =0
Font=Yellow =1
Outline=Black =2
Antialias=Black. =3

I wanted the subs to be yellow so when they display on screen they look nice,but they came out very transparent...could you tell me of a perfect setting for both White and Yellow subs please?
A setting that is not too transparent but not too "standish" so to speak...thanks (^-^)/
