I've barey started using this software about.... 2 hours ago, and I'm having problems with the Format part of it. It keeps bringing up a "PICData", a "VBV Underflow" errors. I've asked Sonic support and they've yet to get back to me. I was hoping someone here might know how to fix this.

You should try Minnetonka Disc Welder Chrome II. This software is friendly and has all needed features.

Tried it, didn't like it. As it turns out, my error was caused by the bitrate being too high for my motion menu. So that problem is now fixed. I believe Sonic's product is the only one (except for Cube-A) that allows full spec access - all 16 GPRMs and 25 SPRMs. So in this case, discWelder wouldn't help much as I never really found out how to do PRE/POST/CELL commands nor how to set GPRMs. Oh well. Perhaps I'll write a guide for Sonic's DVD-A software, as I've searched high and low for one, but it just doesn't exist...

Hi
I agree with you that "...Sonic's product is the only one (except for Cube-A) that allows full spec access...". From other hand their products have so many bugs e.g Sonic Scenarist. It's very good software but it isn't stable and friendly. I think that Sonic should dedicate more time to test their software. They're working on Scenarist HD now and I'm afraid that they'll forget about "normal" Scenarist:(
About your problem: I think that you know that DVD-Video specification limits bitrate (video+audio+subtitles) up to 9.8Mbits. In practice don't go over 9.5Mb or eaven 9.0Mb and use good encoders like CinemaCraft.

"Normal" Scenarist is going to get an upgrade to 3.1 here very soon. As far as all their stuff being "very buggy"... It really isn't. If you're not using a Dongled Version of it, then that's your own problem and you can use that at your own risk. I'm sure the bugs in that version exist to no end. However, the DONGLED VERSION has very minimal bugs in it. As for "user friendly" Sonic's professional products are not meant for consumers and people who don't know how to use it nor understand DVDs and how they work. So as for products being "user friendly" stick with MyDVD or DVDit. DVD-A Creator and Scenarist are easy to use once the user has mastered them. Now for the audio track, its uncompressed audio. DVD-A Creator seems to allow for 5 Mbps CBR for the video track. Anything above a 5.0 may or may not work.

I didn't know that in DVD-Audio there're other rules (except audio formats) then in DVD-Video.
I was worked in some company on legal Scenarist 3.01 (very very expensive:)) and it had many bugs, but from other hand I like Scenarist.
Sonic should improve GUI ( but not like WIN XP:)), eg. in Scenario Editor icons are freezing, when you're scroling window.
In the near feature we'll probably work on Sonic HD with no bugs:)

A Sonic product with NO bugs...? Yeah... I'd pay to see that. The Scenarist system you work on, was that computer built specifically for Scenarist or was it a Best Buy computer on sale? The system I work on at work was built only for Scenarist and it runs nearly flawless. As for the Scenarist HD, it'll be the same interface as the current Scenarist. In my other post, it tells what professionals can expect for HD-DVD Authoring in terms of what has been changed and enhanced.

The computer wasn't dedicated for Scenarist but that was "good" computer. That was dual Xenon 3.06 GHZ on Asus motherboard with 2GB ram and 1TB (4x250 GB in raid) disk on Windows XP Pro system.
Scenarist has bugs and that's a fact:)
This posts are on a doom forum? (I'll check it)
Thanks for repalys Andrew
