Any ideas whether MPC can get the audio as well as video stream from a firewire device (ADVC-100) on WinXP SP1?
When I "File|Open Device" in MPC, the Select Capture Device dialog gives me "Microsoft DV Camera and VCR" for video and "SB Live! Audio [B800]" for audio. There are no other options for video and audio. If I use these options I get a picture but no sound. If I make the audio input selection empty as suggest on the Select Capture Device dialog, MPC crashes with an error signature offset of 0006af56. If I open device (with the SB Live! audio input) and then look at the View|Capture pane, there is no audio type that enables me to hear or record the audio either.
My firewire device is working correctly. I can watch video with sound from the firewire stream using AmCap (http://noeld.com/). I can record video with sound from the firewire stream using WinDV. I would like to use MPC to do both without the need to route the audio through the line in into my SB sound card.
