I'm currently doing research for a European ISP on tv on demand

i want to extract tv shows from freeview feeds,

im currently using a DigiTv box which encode shows (from an EPG) into MPEG-2 in realtime, but MPEG-2 is huge, i real need to either enocde to MPEG-4 or do some processing somewhere along the line.

Any feedback or suggestions would be great. I can pickup whatever new hardware i need etc
