I suddenly got this "Head cleaning required message" but recording seemed to go OK.
When I tried to capture/playback all I saw was a blue screen.
A head cleaning cassette (3 passes) remedied the situation. Captured about 5GB when suddenly it stopped. No more playback and back to the blue screen.
A fourth pass with the cleaning tape (Maxell states in bold to never run more than 4 consecutive passes) proved useless.
The main question is would this condition prevent recording?
(I admit I didn't try to play a known good tape, have to rummage for one)
Also if anyone knows anything about such issues, any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
The camera is a JVC GR-DVM90. Not the newest but not used that often, in great shape.
Thanks.
