View Full Version : Why are 5.1 DD-WAVs always 640 Kbps with BeSweet?

When I try to make with "BeSure 1.2" a "DD-WAV" or with "BeSweetGUI" a "5.1 DD-WAV", the ac3enc uses always 640 Kbps (see log). - Why?
My soundsystem seems not to support such a high bitrate.

Is there a possiblity to set BeSweet to let the output file in 448 Kbps. My target is to transcode AC3-files by one step.

You could try adding a -ac3enc ( -b 448 ) section to adjust the bitrate.

Also, since your source is AC3, why are you reencoding? Besplit can go right from DD to DD-WAV without reencoding.

Edit: I see that you are resampling, ignore my previous comment about besplit.

if you WANT to use besweet -> transcode for whatever reason to AC3 (change Bitrrate/Frequency)

BeSweet always reencodes if you convert to DDWAV!!

Use HeadAC3He to pack the AC3 in a Wave.
HeadAC3He does not reencode and puts the AC3 directly into a working DDWAV.
DDWAvs produced by besweet do not work with my amplifer (and I'm not the only one).

download HeadAC3He from Daphy's site (needfulthings.webhop.org)
