Hi

I am attempting to do Without A Paddle (R2) with DIF4U, Scenaid 1.6 and Scenarist 2.7.

VTS 3 has angles and is split by VOBID
VTS 6 is normal
VTS 7 is done by PGC but only PGC 14 (as it contains all the others)

DIF4U is set up and run as per doom9 guide. I then run scenaid and let it run BatchCCE 0.9.1.5 (I manually set angle checkbox for the appropriate encodes - info taken from the IFO). This is encoded with CCE 2.67.00.27.

I then try and import the SCP file. Scenarist freezes instantly. It is maximised and I do not move focus. I notice disk activity for about 2minutes then none. Process explorer says 50% CPU usage (Intel P4 630 with HT enabled). I leave it overnight (10 hours). Still frozen with background showing throught main scenarist window.

Just to try I run reauthorist over the demuxed files (it only makes a script for VTS 6 and 7 as it cannot do VOBID) but this script CAN be imported and the bottom left dialog box shows progress etc...

I also tried creating a script with the original assets in scenaid, this does not work either.

The SCP file is 182MB in size.
The log is here http://www.somewhere-out-there.eclipse.co.uk/ScenAid.log

Any ideas,
Thanks,
Andy

is this Scenarist 2.7?

Sadley, that can be the case... 10hrs seems a big much that script file is HUUUUUGE (average is about 18-20mg)

Scenarist 3.0 would actually show you progress.... 2.7 has that froze look to it..

Rest assured though, if there's memory/cpu activity.. it IS doing something

Using Scenarist 2.7 but Scenarist 3.0 does exactly the same. This seems different to the 'lost focus' freeze. The main scenarist window is transparant to start with.

Why is the SCP file so large?? Is it because of vobid?? From what I remember of using reauthorist, even on a large DVD with multiple subs and audio it was always about 20MB. What would add an extra 100MB.

I also note that the scn file that scenarist generates never gets larger that 84KB.

Andy

subtitles more then likely (movies w/ animated subs or infinifilms have a LOT of subtitles...)

zip it up and email it to me... i'll take a look at what's going on

Many thanks.

It may be huge, but it sure compresses well!!! (801KB)

It's all subtitles...

there's 8,041,312 lines in that script and 95% of it is importing of subtitles....

the delay your seeing is Scenarist aligning those to the script.. (after importing, scenarist verifies, then aligns to the tracks)

I might suggest removing some of the subtitle streams (looks like this DVD has 26 PER vobid (9 languages it looks like) - that would greatly increase your import time (26 per vobid * 29 vobid's = 754 streams

doesn't appear to be too many subs in each stream I think it's just the shear qty of streams that's causing the headaches

Just tried a test import myself and scenarist hangs right away while doing a pre-check of the script....

I think the only way your going ot get this to import into scenarist is to delete some of those streams

(you can also try importing it in the lastest muxman alpha and see if it likes it... be a good workout)

Hi

You are indeed correct! :) Cutting the number of subs down allows you to import the script. However on build I get this error.

Do I need to reencode the VTS 3 components?? I think the CCEdata file was in the last RARed post. (and what max bitrate to use)

Andy

Interestingly enough, the maxbitrate in the ccedata file matches what I get when I calculated what the bitrate should be....

(7800-448-192-192 = 6968)

you can try re-encoding vobid 11 and 12 at a slightly lower bitrate but i'm not sure why it error out on you in the first place

Hi

Tried reencoding with max bitrate 6000. Same error on build. Just tried a creating a scenarist 3.0 script. Freezes as before, funnily enough!

Puzzled

okay two things ...

1.there's 8,041,312 lines in that script
wow! .... wow!

2. just a shot in the dark, but i am thinking there is something wrong with your audio stream in VTS_03. could you try running the related audio stream through delaycut with the option of 'crc errors > fix' selected. rename the resultant file to match the existing audio, re-import and try that ... might work ...

edit: you will find a copy of delaycut in your scenaid program folder

Hi

Just tried that wil the 3 VTS 3 VOBID 11 AC3 files. Replaced old ones and rebuild - same error.

can you shoot me the .scp (zipped up) and the scneaid .log

lets see if there's something wierd in the script

Many thanks.

I have put it here (6MB)
Includes Scenarist 2.7 and 3.0 scripts and imported scn file for 2.7.

Hi

For completeness also compressed mpv with Hank's encoder. Still didn't work.

Cheers,

Bump. Did you find any error in the script??

I bet there's no error in your script if you get the "Warning Total bitrate too HIGH. Audio(1) PTS(-1) is less than SCR(184) (around 00:00:00;00)." error, just reencode the segment _before_ the multiangle part where you get this error.

DaRat you are a legend! :D

came across this error the other day and was slowly going mad until i found this thread ... worked a treat.

thanks
