View Full Version : Vob with unused titles but not unreferenced...Swordfish (R4)

Hi, have been processing Swordfish (R4). Have ripped to hard drive using DVDDecrypter file mode with resulting directory containing 3 VTS:
VTS 1 - contains music video trailer and other interview snippets
VTS 2 - movie and trailer, warnings, studio id, etc
VTS 3 - interview and making of extras

The titles in VTS 1 are referred to in VIDEO_TS.IFO when I open it in IfoEdit. If I open the DVD in DVDShrink there are no unreferenced titles. Opening in IfoEdit and VobBlanker shows no angles are present.

In PgcEdit, if I trace the DVD, none of the Titles in VTS 1 are ever played. Looking through all of the VMG* & VTS* commands, I cannot see any that link to these titles either.

Am I correct in thinking then that a title only needs to be listed in VIDEO_TS.IFO to be referenced, even if it would never be played (except by directly keying the title number into the remote I guess) ?

Any suggestions on a good (read: not too complicated) way to add in a menu that can be used to select these titles ?

why don't you just use pgcedit's menueditor to add buttons to an existing menu?
alternatively you can add a new menu (but in this case you need anyway a link =button in another menu to access this new menu unless you want to go via the angle/subpicture/audio etc. menu).

looks like an easter egg (http://www.dvdtown.com/easteregg/swordfish/8931/270/).
you can also use PgcEdit's import closeing clips to add the VTS 1 titles to the end of the movie(then blank VTS 1 after).
just another idea but like lark said to add buttons to a menu might be better.

Right click on a Title in Pgc Selection pane and select that. If there are any commands present, then you can select those to jump to the PGC that has that command.

@sweetness: Only write-up on EE's that I'd seen used secret buttons in menu's, so after checking menu's and discounting that my thinking turned to unreferenced items or that I'd stuffed something.

@lark: Will give this a go. Had read in another thread something about added buttons not being highlighted - but uncertain if it was referring to an equivalent circumstance to what I am contemplating.

@2COOL: Ah, that would be much easier than searching manually, particularly on DVD's with many more pgc's.

Thanks all.......
