it is possible to encode straight from the tv ie hardware, i want to capture a tv series and save it in divx form is this possible

It is posible to record directly to .avi and .mp3 from sattv using SS2 sattv card and SkyView program by marfi.
see .avi sample with 96kb/s .mp3

. for explanation, now i see that is Divx thread, but Divx codecs can be used within ffdshow or seperatly (my belowed 4.12) for experiments with live tv capturing/recording to.avi and mp3.
