EDIT : Since writing the below I managed to get the recorder to work by trying to use a DVD-RW, then after using that it seemed to get the other discs to work. Still can't work the Yamada player though.
I am in the UK and own 2 mutliregion players, well, one is a DVD recorder the other just a player. Now, BOTH machines have packed up on me within 2 days of each other. Neither will play any discs at all. I can't be sure but I think the last discs put in them was a RCE disc, although this played it fine, now it wont play any discs. The fact the last discs used were RCE could be purely coincidental and not connected. I have often fallen to sleep with the players still going, but I shouldn't think that would wear out the lasers, not this soon anyway.
It wouldn't be so bad if it was just the player, given how cheap they are, but now also the DVD recorder too, just 2 days after my player packed up. Both machines come on, but just don't play any discs, they spend the entire time trying to read, the recorder even shuts off after 20 seconds of trying to read a disc. I have tried endless discs, both commerical and home made, none work. I have tried cleaners, but to no help (wont even read the cleaners).
I can't understand why this has happened. One machine is a Yamada 6600 and the other is a Mico311. I know both machines are budgets, but they shouldn't both go near enough the same time.
Any help guys ?
