Hi to all..
with version 2.08 autogk writes avi with packed bitstream..
For better compatibility i'd like exclude it..
Someone knows how to do it ?
I tried to set Enable standalone support with MTK/Sigma ..
But it didn't work... Someone can help me ?
Thank You In Advance!

Packed bitstream is by default enabled in DXN HT profile. Even DivX has it enabled.
For compatibility it SHOULD BE ALWAYS ENABLED (as per DivX certification).
However you can unpack the bitstream with MPEG4MODIFIER: http://www.moitah.net/

Hello schiame, I think Sharktooth gave you the answer to that one ...

Use ctrl/F9 (hidden options) and you have the checkboxes downright --> check MTK
:)
If does'nt work you can create manually (in AGK folder) the file .mtk ; use search if not familiar to create that kind of file

I'm sorry, I've double posted under AutoGK Beta thread.
Can you confirm me that new XviD bundled with AGK 2.08 produce *everytime* "packet bitstream" files? I've tried with vdub, with AL@5 and MTK profile uncheking "packet bitstream" flag.
thanks
Dino

I confirm that AGK 2.08 encodes with packed bitstream.
My SAP (H&B 3220 MTK 1389DE) plays ok with or withour PB
for a test avi of +- 1000kbps xvid 1.1 beta2
People having problems with PB either use MPEG4 modifier to unpack the bitstream or can revert to AGK 2.07

I have a boghe (very similar to Yamada).
It plays PB, but somebody have not fluid playback on some file with PB.
I've seen also problems with latest 2.07 using custom matrix (I'm sorry, but I can't describe it in english! :scared: ). I have to do more tests (if I'd enought time  )...
bye

What a mess - it does seem like new vfw dll from celtic_druid is borked regarding PB :( I guess its time to revert to previous CD version of xvid without proper support of VBV for MTK/sigma, but only for ESS.

Noooo...Please keep PB. PB can always be undone, but not the other way around. It is always the safest!
EDIT: What exactly is b0rked about the DLL? PB on by default?

In the dll packaged with 2.08 PB cannot be switched off at all - which is a no-go. No PB is universally known to be the safest solution anyway and PB was never used by AutoGK before.

Actually, having PB-on is the safest for DivX-certified players (e.g: DVP642, the most popular player) and having PB-off seems to work well with 'other' MPEG-4 players. So we cannot say that one is better than the other. It 'depends'.
The reason why I said PB-on is the safest is keeping Moitah's MPEG-Modifier in mind, wherein we can unpack PB if the encodes are found incompatible with one's standalone.
Here is a better way: Why not have 2 vfw DLLs included in the AutoGK installer? One C_D's (the one in 2.08b) and one regular. If the user chooses MTK/Sigma support, install C_D's. If the user chooses ESS support, install the old one.:)

Tests for AGK 2.08 and new xvidvfw from Celtic_Druid
1/ No hidden option
- unrestricted profile
- no PB used
2/ MTK via hidden option
-MTK profile used
-no PB used
3/ ESS via hidden option
- unrestricted profile used
- no PB used
Nota: don't remember if the dxn ht profile is triggered by the ESS option, if so problem :(
Please make other tests
