That looks like its going to be a high bitrate matrix. Ill give it a try and see how it is compared to the other HVS variants.

Maybe you should specify that matrix wont work with some standalone players.

@Audionut, Any comparisons/benchmarks you might have done with this compared to other CQMs, which you would like to share?
Also maybe a short note on the aims/expectations of this matrix and the kind of bitrate and material this is best suited for?
Not everyone might be able to classify a matrix as LBR, HBR etc just by seeing the numbers.;)

Uploaded new matrix.
This one compresses better than the above matrix.
edit: oops, uploaded wrong matrix.

Is there any sets of matrices that work across the board and ARE standalone friendly... ???

Do I suffer from déja vu?
No, it is real (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=82404).
Phew! ;)
(This should clarify about characteristics and performance of the matrices.)

is that in reply to me?

No, that was a general comment.
Regarding *your* question, I'd suggest to use either the 1st or the 2nd item from XviD's "Quantization type" drop-down box. Especially the 1st is the most SA-friendly one you'll ever see ... and it's quite versatile as well. :)

Well, there you go!
As I don't have a standalone, I can not test if these matrices work on standalones.
Quite frankly, I don't really give a shite.
You seem quite capable of pointing out the fact that these matrices don't work on standalones.
So, I will leave it up to you to inform other members of this forum, if my matrices are incompatable with SOME standalones.
Thankyou.

Well, YOU dont give a "shite" but users do!
FYI matrices with inter-matrix coefficients below 16 are not guaranteed to work with standalones.
So, now you know how to determine if a matrix is not standalone compatible.
However you may want to have a look at this thread too: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=94344

I have used the BDVD Matrix with DVD-RB Pro v.93.2. The matrix works on two of my standalne players but not another. I really like the matrix.
My question to you guys is there a list of Matrices that are 1. completely compatible 2. mostly compatible, with standalone DVD players?
I would really like to try different Matrices, but only if they have a chance at all of playing in a standalone. Do any of you have a Custom Matrix that works and gives good results?
Regards,:)
