hi guys,
i've used d2sroba and dvd2vcd to turn a dvd into a vcd and the process was reall smooth.

now i'm going though the dvd2avi guide and it seems like there's so many steps. is there any streamlined program that will do all this stuff for me?

if not, can i use dvddecrypter instead of smartripper? i just need to put it in ifo mode right?

also, if there's only a certain clip in the movie i really want as an avi, how do i do this? do i try and identify whcih vob the clip is in and then only convert that one?

thanks for the tips,
max

Load all the VOBs in DGIndex. Navigate on the timeline to the desired area. Then use the [ and ] buttons to select your desired range.

You haven't specified your goal, so I can't comment on "streamlined" solutions.

Yes, you can rip with DVDDecrypter.

thanks neuron2,

well, my goal for a streamlined process or rather my desire, is to use a program like dvd2vcd where i identify the disk i want to copy, and what kind of cd i want to burn it to - set the program running and it goes through all the steps for me. except, instead of making a cd bin, it makes a avi. is there such a program?

thanks for the other tips, i'm going to try it out right now.

You might look into Auto Gordian Knot for an automated process.
