Recorded my show with my TV card in MPEG2 format.
The initial screenshot is as such. Not that great 'cos using an antenna.

Using VDubMod. Was experimenting with the filters. In the end used only sharpen. Without sharpen it DivX compression makes my shows look 'soft'. Anyway to get around this? Using DivX Pro 5.1.

The resulting image is as such. There it seems that the noise seems 'blocky'. Is the Chroma Smoother any good? Tried it and can't seem to make it better. Anyway to improve this? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'd suggest you to try the following, separately or both:

- Use the XviD codec to compress it
- Get a better antenna, or put your current one at a higher altitude

Try the MSU noise reduction filter, it works fairly well, although the chroma smoother might work too. I've also found that VirtualDub's capture denoiser is surprisingly good, and so is the PeachSmoother for AviSynth, both of which are well optimized for handling TV.
