View Full Version : autogk seems to shut down pc

hi ive been using autogk about 10 months now before id used fairuse but lately i updated to 2.07 because it has dv support wich is pretty cool but since then i think at least i havent been able to encode any xvids i normally do 1/3 dvd encodes dvds etc but what seems to hapen about 20% thru second pass pc restarts on its own at first i thought overheating but downed speed fan and temp cpu doesnt go above 50c ive also tried encode with fairuse but this didnt work either 20 tr=hru second pass it stops with a error not quite shuting pc down i think maybe this is a xvid fault so also tried older 1.0 final with agk2.07 but alas no better hope somone can help :confused:ps 2ghz pentium xp sp2

If not CPU/overheating, this may as well be a memory problem (that usually appears very suddenly and won't go away)...

hi mate when u say memory prob do u mean hard drive or ram i have 512 and normaly about 10 gig out 40 when procesing

hi guys back again have had prime running for six hours now anyone any idea how long this takes so far no fails about 25 test passed cpu stays at cpu50c hd46c

back again i had stress test running for 12 hours it came back with no warnings or no errors is there any other tests i can run

ok guys folowing extensive memory tests and this and that pc still shut down after runing autogk for several hours last night i pulled one of the dimms and geuss what this morning im greeted with a hi quality ac3 sound crisp xvid:cool: :D :p ok mate i know whats been said about so many emotions but thats the kind of guy i am :D :D :D :D so maybe i was a bit doubtfull of xvid or gk but bear in mind ive only done one film so far there is another point i noticed about 2.07b when it was still working about scene changes whatch this space ps only using 1,.06 at minute didnt want to push it pc once again thanks guys and also a big thanks to pcworld fer there crappy memory:devil: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=93876
