I have only 1 movie OF 5 VOBs, with the IFOs. The movie has 10 chapters and there are menus title for choosing wich chapter to watch. My problem is that chapter no.4 wich is in VOB no.2 came with no SOUND. My question is... How can I put sound to that chapter? I have the AC3 file, but I don't know how to put it to the chapter. But I also tried this: I have the original AVI chapter with sound, (I don't have the other AVI'S chapters)only this one, then, I converted it to VOB and using VobEdit I remuxed it with the rest of the VOB'S to replace the original chapter but then the original menu don't match the chapters, begining from chapter no.5 and so on...I think the movie is longer now... What should I do, Should I try to put sound to the original movie(VOB)? what program to use? or How I can make or edit the original menu to fall on these chapters correctly...?

my suggestion is to demux the complete DVD in:
MV2 (Video)
AC3 (sound)
Chapterlist

then check the AC3 -> if youīre right there must be some blank parts ;)

if not reauthor the whole stuff back beware the right mapping of the soundtrack -> f.e. 80 ~> english (AC3)

if there are blank parts (what I personally canīt imagine) you should decode the AC3 and add the missing parts (-> maybe it would be easier to downmix 2.0)

else: bring back this DVD to the store - it wonīt be worth the time youīll spent on this project (~> or finally pay those bugs for this DVD ;) )

Hello, I did as you told me, and guess what?....Yes, it is blank the chapter, I also noticed the demuxed sound file is an "mpa" I tought it would be "Ac3"........But anyhow I have the original sound of that chapter in "Ac3" and I managed to convert it to "mpa" and for my surprise, it has the same "bites" as the original mpa that came with no sound......Now my question is, could you tell me please if you know what program to use to record/replace the new mpa with sound for the previous one back to the chapter?....Thanks in advance

I mean replacing the original mpa file for this new mpa...back to the chapter, to see if finally after I put back all the files I have a movie with sound in all chapters...

HiHo

I would use a audio editing tools like adobeīs audition (cooledit) and would open the first mp2 file, replace the blank part with the other chapter track (which you have to decode before into WAV 16bit/48KHz) then recode it back to mp2 or AC3 or leave it in WAV (it depends on the complete size and the maximum bit stream -> remember DVD-Video only supports a overall bitstream of 9800 Kb/s)
then remux the files with for example IFOEDIT (there are many guides arround, so plz donīt ask here ;) ) thatīs it - should work :D ;) :D
