Hi Kpex.

Your Audio FAQ is awsome in its simplicity and informativeness.

Can you please add techniques for stretching an audio file without affecting the frame-rate, by various factors ranging from values of the order of, say, 0.00034% to 2.00234% ?

I know that CoolEdit can do it, but it's not freeware. Nicky Page has described a technique (http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/audio-synch.htm) using Terabis AVInfo 1.2a (http://www.divx-digest.tv/nicky/avinfo_1.2a.zip), it's quite good and useful, but it may be dated and other techniques may be available.

Regards.

There is some mention of this in the BeSweet FAQ (using both -ota and -soundtouch methods), but I agree that a more comprehensive question could fit in the general FAQ. I'll put something together soon.

Yes, SoundStretch is a command-line program that performs SoundTouch library effects on WAV audio files. The main purpose of this program is to give an example how SoundTouch library routines can be used to process sound in other programs, but it can be used as a stand-alone audio processing tool as well. The SoundStretch utility and the SoundTouch library are open-source software and are released under the GNU Lesser General Public License (GPL).

Alas, there is no GUI available.
