People,
I have received a bug report that DVDs created by MenuShrink don't do well with InstantCopy (well, it looks as if everything works well, but then Nero won't burn the IC output, complaining that "One or more files dont belong to the IFO files (mostly VOB files, File reallocation failed!"). This is not a problem with the backup folder being among the output files though...
I have found this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=82418&highlight=instantcopy) thread on the forum that describes similar problems. Does anyone here know exactly what the problem with InstantCopy is?
Apparently, it does not always create "legit" files.
Or... Do you have an idea of what it is that nero is complaining about with this message?

Thanks for any info...

It sounds more like an IC problem than a MenuShrink one. Has the user tried Recode or DVD Shrink to see if their output files were accepted by Nero?

Has he also tried to burn an ISO with DVD Decrypter/PgcEdit?

The user mentions that opening the DVD with DVDRemake pro then saving it again fixes all the problems. In other words, MenuShrink -> DVDRemakePro ->IC->Nero seems to work, but not if you remove DVDRemakePro.

I agree that I'm tempted to blame it on IC, but at the same time, there's something strange in the fact that DVDRemakePro "fixes" it. THen again, it might be a misperception on the part of the user.
THanks for the feedback though...

IMHO, he really should try to open it in Recode and see how that works.

a freind who uses instantcopy had an oversized result once so he wanted to run it through vobblanker to remove a few small extras to get it under. wouldnt load so he tried dvdshrink, same thing wouldnt load. so i had a look at it. basically it was complaining the titleset menu was meant to have video but didnt. so i used pgcedit and selected to remove video for the titleset menu. then it loaded fine in voblanker and dvdshrink both.

Ah! Great info. OK, I'm guessing it was missing the vts_xx_0.vob and pgcedit created a tiny replacement one. OK that's good info. I"ll check with the user, he's supposed to send me his IFOs etc...
Thanks for the info!

I've asked the user, but he only got back to me today, to say that his tests were very confusing. So I don't know...
I'll post back when I get more info.
