I'm sure this has been posted before and I have seen it but I am not finding it now.
I am using AutoGK to encode DVDs and just tried using the Philips DVP642 and part way through the DVDs the audio and video are not synced; but sometimes it iwll syne back up.
However, when I am playing the files on my computer it stays synced and everything works fine.
Any ideas on what I need to do? I am playing am ripping/encoding in AC3 and it does come out it digital sound.
Is there somethign with AutoGK That needs to be done diffrently?
Thanks!

1) If it plays fine in your PC but b0rks in your standalone, it is probably bad media. What are you using?
2) Reinterleave the AVI with 96/96 as the preload/interleave values and try.

Hmmm...I will be trying some other media next week sometime. Right now I am useing Optodisc 4.7GB 8X DVD+R Printable Model #: SS470-C25-021-81 .
But it does still play fine Windows, would this still be the case?
I did test it with MP3 with other movies I had and they seem to play fine, but later today I will be comparing the current movies I did using MP3 instead of AC3. Right now it is encoding while I am at work.

Some MPEG-4 players don't like the way that AutoGK muxes the audio. I'm with unskinnyboy in suggesting the 96/96 ms values for Preload and Interleave. Nandub can do it easily.

I will give that a try. Are there links on how to do what you suggested or could you explain the steps? I am not sure what it is since this is all new to me.

Well I tried what you suggested and also with diffrent media and same issue. However, using MP3 seems to work fine. Is there something else it could be? Maybe even just an issue with my receiver? It also cuts out now and then on the movies and I think I remember my Xbox had the same issue before playing one of my games but I cant not remember if it was that or the cable just being lose.
Any other ideas on this?

Actually I did try the speakers on my TV and te same thing happens so I know it is not the receiver.
Maybe this is just an issue with this specific DVD player? Becuase like I said it works fine on the computer with various media players.

Let he help you find another post on this same thing. It is here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=647645#post647645).
You know, you needn't post the same thing in two different fora.
Regards.

FYI AutoGK's default muxing settings for AC3 audio is 96/96. But ESS option turnes that back off to 500/2 because it was reported specifically for philips players that they sometimes have issues with 96/96 (I can't find the link atm).
