When I attempt to use DVD Rebuilder I recieve this error message. The prepare part appears to work fine but when I click the encode button the message "ERROR: File v01000000001001 shows completed, but no .M2V file exists. Aborted" appears. I'm using the free version of Rebuilder v.084 and Quenc v.0.59 BETA 4. I have tried searching both the forum and google with this but it hasn't came up with anything. What exactly have I done wrong or is this a bug? It has happened with several DVDs so I'm assuming I've just set something up incorrectly.

i had this with cce 2.7 - (sounds like the infomious missing frame bug) although im not too sure on that as im not the most knwolegdable person on these matters or spelling ;)
try using a eariler version pref 2.67 or use HC - its a great little encoder

I just found a possible cause in DVD-RB (only if you are using CCE SP v2.70, sigh...) for this. Another workaround for CCE v2.70 to add in v0.87... :mad:
If so it will work fine with every other version of CCE (and even CCE Basic v2.70) and every other encoder...

jdobbs, what cause would that be?

I have the same problem with .84 free version and CCE 2.67 SP, and it stil seems like the old 1 frame error.
Stil waiting for the 1 frame to be just copied instead of trying to have it re-encoded.

@onesoul
When the VOBID/CELLID of the first cell of the main feature is not the first in the VTS, DVD-RB is creating an empty (0 frame) entry (the AVS will have 1 frame, however). That's a bug in DVD-RB and will be fixed in the next version... but the encoder should complete the encode and create an M2V. Every encoder does except CCE SP V2.70.
@Tube
If it is stopping in 0.84 it is more than 1 frame... try HC or QuEnc and I'd bet it will work.

from the original post from malphas I'm using the free version of Rebuilder v.084 and Quenc v.0.59 BETA 4.
If he is right this problem would not be related to CCE2.70 problems
But I would bet he has pre-processed his source
I've been noticing (from the posts) that this error messages about missing m2v and missing frames are appearing also from others encoders, not only from CCE 2.70.
But it is my impression that they are related to blanked portions of the DVDs (with VOBBlanker or other tool)which generates cells the encoder can not process.
Probably these were the errors that preprocessed sources used to produce with RB, just that then it didnt have the soubroutines to check for missing m2v or missing frames, so we get the errors 6 or 4 or ..
So back to the old question:
malphas, did you preprocess?

i use clonedvd to strip out things i dont want and only ever had this error once and that was with cce 2.70 - with HC or 2.50 or 2.67 i never had it at all - strange

I guess I don't understand why you need to preprocess now when you can do the same thing in DVD-RB ---> and if it fails with DVD-RB you have someone to talk to who can fix it... once I hear a source is preprocessed I pretty much ignore the thread from there on out... I'd be chasing ghosts down rabbit holes forever if I tried to debug that kind of mess...

For me it wasnt due to preproccessed stuff or CCE 2.70. I'm not sure what was causing the problem but HC handled it fine, preprocessed or not.

I can't speak for others, but my source wasn't pre-processed. Just ripped with DVD Decrypter, and straight into RB. The source was Godfather III, PAL edition, with originaly no extras at all on the disk, but almost 3 hours of movie.

it was before dvd-rb could do it jdobbs - also until i know how to get something to work and like the results i tend to stick with the "tried and tested" method - although am using dvd-rb to strip out things i do not want on a dvd backup
prog keeps getting better :)

Yes I did pre-process with DVDReMake Pro. I ripped these DVDs some time ago and have only just got round to re-encoding them.
